The problem with the jar
Balms have been sold in jars for as long as there have been balms, and the jar has never stopped having three problems no formula can fix. Your fingers go in it. You cannot aim it. And it leaks.
None of that is a formulation problem. It is a packaging problem.
Why a stick
Stick formats came into skincare properly through Korean beauty, where balm sticks and sun sticks became ordinary long before they were common elsewhere. A twist-up stick answers all three of the jar’s problems at once.

Where PDRN comes from
PDRN — polydeoxyribonucleotide — is a chain of DNA fragments, most often derived from salmon. It arrived in cosmetics through Korean skincare and is used as a skin-conditioning and moisturising ingredient. Bigger claims exist online; a balm is a cosmetic, not a treatment, and we leave those alone.

Danchel makes the PDRN Pink Collagen Multi Balm. We sell it; we did not make it, and we are not the brand.
